ABSTRAKSI: SMS (Short Message Services) sudah menjadi layanan yang umum digunakan saat ini. Solusi penyampaian pesan yang murah, praktis dan cepat. Diperkirakan tiap bulan ada 15 miliar SMS berkeliaran di udara di seluruh dunia. Setelah SMS, muncul standar hasil pengembangan SMS yang disebut dengan EMS (Enhanced Messaging Services), memungkinkan pengiriman pesan seperti SMS dikombinasikan dengan gambar dan melodi. Dengan konsep yang sama, MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) muncul sebagai langkah berikutnya membawa content multimedia yang dibungkus dalam konsep messaging.
Teknologi LBS (Location Base Service) adalah sebuah cangkokkan terhadap fasilitas GSM dan SMS yang sekarang sudah berkembang secara pesat. Karena sifatnya cangkokkan, belum tentu pengejawantahan teknologi ini mampu untuk memberikan keuntungan ekonomi secara menyeluruh bagi penyedia jasa informasi LBS ini. Karena untuk menyediakan infrastruktur ini tidaklah murah.
LBS mampu menyediakan data tentang keberadaan posisi kita dan dapat mencari tempat terdekat dengan posisi kita yang kita inginkan. Dengan bekerjasama bersama pemerintah dan swasta diharapkan sistem ini tidak menjadi mahal dan terjangkau oleh operator sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan oleh pelanggan GSM. Pemerintah dan swasta disini bertindak sebagai sponsor agar tempat dan nomor telponnya dapat diinformasikan kepada pelanggan GSM yang membutuhkan.Kata Kunci : ABSTRACT: SMS (Short Message Service) have become service that used occasionally in this time. LBS (Location Base Service) technology is a transplantation of GSM and SMS which now have expanded fastly. Since in transplantation character, of course this technology not able to give economic advantage for information service provider of this LBS. Cause to provide this infrastructure is not cheap.
LBS able to provide data about our position existence and earn to look for place closest with us position which we wish. With working along with the government and private sector expected by this system do not become costly and reached by operator so that earn exploited by GSM subscriber. The government and Private sector here act as sponsor, so that place and phone number of the sponsor can be informed for requiring GSM subscriber.Keyword:
