ABSTRAKSI: Penggunaan telepon selular telah menjadi suatu kebutuhan dan trend masyarakat terutama di kalangan perusahaan. Seiring dengan berkembangnya perusahaan dengan bertambahnya karyawan, dibutuhkan suatu layanan informasi tentang karyawan berupa nomor telepon, alamat, e-mail dan lain-lain, sehingga tidak diperlukan untuk menyimpannya di phonebook telepon selular yang terbatas. Hal itu dapat dilakukan dengan membuat pusat informasi tentang informasi karyawan suatu perusahaan dengan menggunakan media sms dan wap. Sehingga yang perlu dilakukan hanyalah tinggal menghubungi pusat layanan tersebut melalui sms atau wap dan menunggu jawaban dari pusat layanan tersebut. Tugas akhir ini mengimplementasikan layanan tersebut
Dalam pengerjaan tugas akhir ini dipakai metodologi yaitu studi literatur, pengumpulan basis data phonebook perusahaan, analisa fasilitas fitur phonebook yang ada dan yang dikembangkan, perancangan dan implementasi aplikasi, pengujian dan analisa aplikasi yang dibuat. Aplikasi ini akan dibuat dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Java, WAP, PHP, MySQL dan memakai API Package jSMSEngine sebagai komponen pembantunya.
Pada akhirnya dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa aplikasi phonebook online ini layak diimplementasikan sebagai layanan bagi perusahaan karena dengan adanya fasilitas pencarian data melalui SMS dan WAP dapat memudahkan pengguna dan dapat disesuaikan dengan dukungan telepon selular. Akurasi data bisa dicapai secara langsung ataupun dengan adanya alternatif jawaban yang dihasilkan. Performansi proses pencarian yang mempunyai waktu rata-rata dibawah 1 detik, SMS memiliki rata-rata 0,16 detik dan WAP 0,03 detik. Dengan waktu proses yang singkat ini dapat dikatakan bahwa sistem memenuhi kebutuhan pelayanan.Kata Kunci : phonebook, WAP, SMSABSTRACT: Cellular phone has become more than a need to its users; moreover it nowadays becomes a pop trend among people. It also occurs in corporate. Due to the growing of the corporate with its consequence of a vast number of its workers, people need a kind of worker information service that provides corporate workers’ phone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses, etc, so that it can substitute the limited function of phonebooks. This service can be realized by developing information center containing corporate worker information by taking advantages of SMS and WAP technology. It is hoped to do a favor simply by connecting the service center via SMS or WAP then the reply will be sent right away.
In this minor thesis, the writer studies SMS and WAP and also develop an application that provides phonebook information center for corporate.
The methods used in this minor thesis are: literature study, populating corporate phonebook database, existing and developing phonebook’s feature analysis, design and implementation of application and also analysis and testing of application. This application is developed using Java, WAP, PHP, MySQL and API Package jSMEngine as supported component.
Finally, it can be concluded that this online phonebook application is merit to be implemented as service for corporate. Because of its compatibility with cellular phone and its searching facility through SMS and WAP that is really helpful for its users. Besides, its data accuracy can simply be achieved and if it cannot be achieved then it will provide the alternative answer for it. And also, its searching process takes average time of below 1 second with SMS takes average time of 0.16 seconds and WAP takes average time of 0.03 seconds. For its short processing time, this application indeed fulfills the needs of service.Keyword: phonebook, WAP, SMS
