ABSTRAKSI: Modulasi PSK (Phase Shift Keying) adalah salah satu solusi untuk mendapatkan kecepatan transfer data yang cepat dengan bandwidth yang terbatas. Penggunaan modulasi PSK sudah meluas diberbagai sistem telekomunikasi.
Keunggulan modulasi ini adalah pada efisiensi bandwidth. Pada modulasi M – PSK, semakin tinggi nilai M, maka penggunaan bandwidth semakin efisien. Beberapa jenis modulasi PSK sudah pernah direalisasikan, namun hanya sampai modulasi 8 – PSK.
Pada Tugas Akhir ini, akan Dirancang dan Direalisasikan Modulator dan Demodulator 16 – Ary PSK dengan pendekatan rangkaian digital.
Karena bersifat sebagai prototipe, pembatasan masalah pada Tugas Akhir ini lebih di titik-berat kan pada frekuensi sinyal pembawa dan Bit Rate Sinyal Informasi. Analisa prototype dilakukan pada sisi keluaran tiap blok Modulator dan Demodulator.
Hasil analisa keluaran Modulator menunjukkan adanya ketidakkonsistenan pada amplitude sinyal keluaran, meski sudah menunjukkan adanya perbedaan fasa. Hasil keluaran Demodulator memiliki tingkat kesalahan yang cukup tinggi. Selain disebabkan oleh tidak sempurnanya keluaran Modulator, juga karena adanya penyederhanaan Blok pada sisi Demodulator.
Kata Kunci : 16-PSK, Modulator, Demodulator, Perancangan, Realisasi, BERABSTRACT: One of solutions to bring much information on a finite bandwidth is using Phase Shift Keying (PSK) modulation. It is a popular modulation which used in a number of telecommunication system.
Bandwidth efficiency on PSK modulation is better than the other modulation method. It is why we can maximize the bandwidth usage by using this modulation method. In M – PSK modulations, we will know about better usage of bandwidth with a higher of M number.
This research creates a prototype of 16 – Ary PSK system. So that some of variable here are simplify to get the better result. Those two factors which have dominant role are carrier signal and bit rate. Both have important information to analyze each block of Modulator and Demodulator later.
The analyze result of Modulator show us the inconsistency of amplitude of output signal. And each symbol has had different phase than the others. Output Demodulator has high error rate of bit. This is happened because of simplifying block and imperfect Modulator output.
