ABSTRAKSI: Perkembangan teknologi saat ini seiring dengan kebutuhan masyarakat akan informasi yang cepat dan efisien. Handphone misalnya, handphone yang dilengkapi dengan fasilitas WAP memberikan layanan yang mudah dan cepat dalam memberikan informasi penting yang dibutuhkan oleh pengguna, serta dapat mengakses internet walaupun hanya website tertentu yang mempunyai format data untuk pengaksesan lewat handphone
Selama ini Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru di STT Telkom dilakukan dengan cara manual, telephone dan via web. Untuk mendapatkan informasi, melakukan pendaftaran ataupun melihat pengumuman, peserta harus menunggu brosur-brosur dan surat yang di sebar oleh panitia PMB STT Telkom, membeli formulir di tempat – tempat yang telah ditentukan, yang biasanya berada di kota besar ataupun dengan mengakses internet.
Pada proyek akhir ini telah dibangun Aplikasi Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru STT Telkom Via WAP, sebagai solusi alternatif bagi peserta yaitu para lulusan SMU maupun perguruan tinggi dalam melakukan pendaftaran untuk mengikuti ujian masuk PMB STT Telkom, konfirmasi pembayaran, dan informasi pengumuman hasil tes, serta informasi yang lain ( seperti waktu pendaftaran, waktu pelaksanaan ujian, waktu dan biaya registrasi, tata cara pembayaran dan sekretariat panitia PMB). Aplikasi Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru STT Telkom Via WAP ini dibangun dengan menggunakan Metodologi Waterfall, dengan bahasa pemrogramman WML dan PHP, database yang digunakan adalah MySQL, serta menggunakan tool Emulator WAP dan handphone yang memiliki layanan WAP untuk membantu proses pengetesan.Kata Kunci : WAP, WML, Waterfall, PHP, MysqlABSTRACT: Technological growth in this time along with requirement socialize for expeditious information. During the time, the New Student Acceptance in STT Telkom conducted by manual, telephone and via web. To get information, doing registration and to see announcement, the competitor have to await brochures and letter which in disseminating by committee of PMB STT Telkom, buying form in places which have been determined, what generally reside in metropolis or by accessing internet.
In this final project has been made Application of New Student Acceptance of STT Telkom Via WAP, as alternative solution for the competitor that is the High School graduation and College graduation in doing registration to follow enter test of PMB STT Telkom, payment confirmation, and information of announcement of result tes, and also the other information ( such as registration time, time of test execution, time and registration expense, procedures of payment and address of committee secretariat PMB STT Telkom). This application builded by using Waterfall Metodologi, with WML And PHP programming language, Mysql database, and also use Emulator tool of WAP and handphone owning service WAP to assist testing process.Keyword: WAP, WML, Waterfall, PHP, Mysql
