ABSTRAKSI: Kebutuhan masyarakat akan informasi mendorong perkembangan layanan-layanan untuk akses informasi. Layanan ini antara lain Cable TV, fast internet access, dan video on demand (VOD). Salah satu solusi agar masyarakat dapat mengakses satu atau dua layanan tanpa mengganggu akses lain adalah dengan Kabel Modem.
KabelModem adalah suatu teknologi yang dapat mengakses internet dengan high-speed (kecepatan tinggi) melalui jaringan kabel TV. Yang artinya, internet yang diakses melalui kabel modem tidak membutuhkan saluran telepon seperti modem umumnya, sehingga saluran telepon dimungkinkan tidak selalu sibuk. Pada proyek akhir ini akan dibahas lebih jauh tentang Kabel Modem dan performansi untuk Kabel Modem tersebut.Kata Kunci : ABSTRACT: The people requirement of information pushing the services growth to information access. Cable Modem is a technology in which can access the internet with high-speed through cable TV network. Its mean that internet accessed through Cable Modem not require channel phone such as modem generally, so that the telephone channel impossibled not always be busy.
