ABSTRAKSI: Perkembangan teknologi telekomunikasi terus meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya kebutuhan pada informasi dan komunikasi. Salah satu teknologi telekomunikasi yang berperan penting dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan tersebut saat ini adalah teknologi satelit, baik untuk memenuhi kebutuhan penelitian, pengawasan dan keamanan, untuk komunikasi yang bersifat rahasia, maupun hiburan.
Dalam penerapannya, tidak bisa dipungkiri, diperlukan perhitungan yang cukup kompleks untuk menentukan pengaturan perangkat sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan spesifikasinya. Pada proyek akhir ini dibuat sebuah aplikasi berbasis sistem operasi Android untuk membantu menentukan pengaturan yang efektif serta efisien bagi perangkat pemancar dan penerima di bumi. Aplikasi yang dinamakan “Satellite Link Calculator” ini, dikhususkan untuk perhitungan link satelit orbit geostasioner/ Geostasionary Orbit (GEO).
Hasil dari proyek akhir ini berupa aplikasi untuk smartphone Android versi 2.3 atau diatasnya. Pengujian dilakukan dengan membandingkan perhitungan pada aplikasi yang telah dibuat dengan software aplikasi yang dipakai oleh PT. Telkom Tbk. Sub Divisi Satelit untuk menentukan perhitungan link dengan nilai parameter yang sama.Kata Kunci : link satelit, Android, Satellite Link CalculatorABSTRACT: The development of telecommunication technology continues to increase with the information and communication needs. One of the telecommunication technologies that plays an important role in meeting those needs is satellite technology, whether to meet the needs of research, surveillance and security, confidential communications, as well as entertainment.
In practice, a fairly complex calculations is necessary to determine the device settings appropriate to its requirements and specifications. In this final project, an application based on Android operating system is created to help determining an effective and efficient configurations for the transmitter and receiver located on the Earth. This application, which is named “Satellite Link Calculator”, is used to calculate Geostasionary Orbit (GEO) satellite link.
The result of this final project is an application which runs in smartphones with Android operating system version 2.3 or higher. The testing process is done by comparing the calculation made by this application with the application software used by PT. Telkom Tbk.
