ABSTRAKSI: Televisi merupakan salah satu media hiburan yang paling banyak diminati oleh seluruh kalangan. Namun, dalam hal penggunaannya masyarakat tidak pernah menyadari akan daya yang digunakan untuk menghidupkan sebuah televisi. Terkadang masyarakat membiarkan televisi mereka tetap menyala meskipun tidak ada yang menonton siaran televisi tersebut. Proyek akhir yang berjudul “Perancangan dan Realisasi Sistem On-Off Televisi Otomatis Berbasis Mikrokontroler AT89S51” ini mencoba untuk membantu menghemat daya yang digunakan untuk menghidupkan sebuah televisi dengan memanfaatkan PIR sensor sebagai pendeteksi suhu tubuh dan gerakan manusia, sehingga televisi akan otomatis off jika tidak terdeteksi keberadaan penonton.
Prinsip kerja dari alat ini adalah on-off otomatis televisi dengan sistem deteksi dari PIR sensor. PIR sensor ini digunakan untuk mendeteksi adanya keberadaan dan pergerakan manusia di suatu ruangan, sehingga mikrokontroler akan menghidupkan sistem bila PIR mendeteksi kehadiran seseorang di area cakupan sensor. Sistem tersebut merupakan sistem mikrokontroler yang sudah diprogram menggunakan bahasa assembly untuk menghidupkan relay yang akan menghubungkan catuan remote. Remote dikhususkan untuk memancarkan sinar inframerah ke satu titik pada penerima inframerah televisi sehingga televisi dapat on-off secara otomatis sesuai program yang telah diatur pada mikrokontroler. Selain sebagai otomatisasi televisi, alat ini akan menjaga kondisi ruangan pada saat menonton TV.Kata Kunci : Mikrokontroler AT89S51, Bahasa Assembly, PIR Sensor.ABSTRACT: Television is one of the most popular entertainment media. However, people never aware of the power that used to turn on a television. Sometimes people let their television stay on even though no one is watching television. This Final Project entitled “Perancangan dan Realisasi Sistem Televisi Otomatis Berbasis Mikrokontroler AT89S51” try to conserve power used to turn on a television, by utilizing the PIR sensor to detect body‟s temperature and motion from the people, so TV will automatically turn off if there‟s no people detected in front of television.
The principle working of this tool is an automatic on-off television with PIR sensor. PIR detection system of this sensor is used to detected human in a room, so the microcontroller will turn on the system when the PIR detects the presence of someone in the area of sensor coverage. The system is a microcontroller that already programmed by assembly language to turn on the relay which will connect the power supply of remote. The remote specially use to transmit the infrared to one point of the receiver infrared of televison, so televison can turn on or turn off automatically according to a program that has been set in the microcontroller.
