ABSTRAKSI: Sering kali pengguna telepon rumah mengeluhkan adanya kenaikan biaya tagihan telepon di luar dugaan. Hal ini disebabkan adanya pemakaian dari pihak-pihak yang tidak bertanggung jawab diluar sepengetahuan pemilik telepon. Untuk mengatasi masalah itu, banyak dijual berbagai macam pesawat telepon yang dilengkapi dengan kunci pengaman. Konsep ini adalah konsep proteksi pada pesawat telepon, dengan menggunakan sebuah pesawat telepon lain, maka proteksi ini masih dapat digagalkan.
Pada konsep pengamanan jalur, proteksi dilakukan pada seluruh jalur telepon tersebut terhadap pemakaian pihak-pihak yang tidak bertanggung jawab. Dengan cara ini, dalam satu jalur, dimulai dari kabel sesudah sistem proteksi hingga ujung kabel paling dalam yang ada di dalam rumah atau kantor akan mengalami proteksi sehingga walaupun terdapat pihak yang memasang pesawat telepon liar pada jalur tersebut. Alat proteksi ini disambungkan seri di antara pesawat telepon dan saluran telepon melalui konektor JP1 dan JP2. Konektor JP1 dihubungkan ke pesawat telepon dan konektor JP2 dihubungkan ke saluran telepon PSTN dari Telkom.
Sistem proteksi dilakukan dengan permintaan password pada saat pengguna akan melakukan panggilan keluar, apabila password yang diinputkan tidak sesuai atau bahkan sama sekali tidak memasukkan password, maka sistem akan menggagalkan proses pemanggilan. Proses pemanggilan akan dapat berjalan dengan baik hanya pada saat pengguna memasukkan password yang sesuai pada sistem. Alat ini juga memantau sinyal yang ada di saluran telepon, nada DTMF yang ada di saluran telepon dikenali dan diubah bentuk menjadi kode biner. Kode biner yang diterima diubah menjadi kode ASCII dan ditampilkan di Tampilan LCD.

This tool also monitors the signal was on the phone, the DTMF tones in the phone lines are recognized and transformed into binary code. received binary code converted into ASCII code and displayed on the LCD.
