ABSTRAKSI: Kegiatan penerimaan siswa baru oleh sekolah selalu rutin dilaksanakan setiap tahunnya. Berbagai kendala pun selalu muncul, dari pihak sekolah ingin memberikan informasi mengenai hasil penjurnalan calon siswa baru yang mendaftar secara akurat dan mudah diakses setiap waktu. Dilain pihak calon siswa baru selalu ingin memperoleh informasi tentang posisi mereka setiap saat dengan mudah , cepat dan nyaman tanpa harus setiap hari datang ke sekolah untuk memantau informasi tentang posisi mereka yang setiap saat dapat berubah. Dengan setiap saat harus datang ke sekolah akan banyak membuang waktu, biaya dan juga tenaga.
Pada proyek akhir ini akan digunakan manfaat dari SMS Gateway sebagai alat untuk menyampaikan informasi penjurnalan posisi calon siswa baru pada sebuah SMA di Kabupaten Purworejo, sistem ini berupa prototype dan studi kasus digunakan untuk pedoman dalam pengambilan data pendukung dalam pembuatan sistem ini. Dimana secara otomatis setiap ada calon siswa baru yang keluar dari sistem penjurnalan dan yang berada pada posisi 3 besar paling bawah secara periodik akan dikirimi SMS. Sedangkan untuk website digunakan untuk melakukan input data calon siswa baru pada masing – masing sekolah. Pada sistem ini, client yang berinteraksi adalah calon siswa baru pada beberapa SMA dimana setiap client mempunyai handphone. Setiap calon siswa yang mendaftar di SMA negeri di Kabupaten Purworejo datanya akan dimasukkan ke dalam web server melalui sekolah masing – masing yang terhubung dengan internet dan diurutkan berdasarkan Nilai Ujian Nasional SMP. Kemudian data akan di ambil oleh server SMS Gateway yang kemudian akan kirim dengan SMS.
Dari proyek akhir ini didapatkan hasil bahwa pengadaan sistem untuk sistem informasi penjurnalan penerimaan siswa baru berbasis SMS gateway dan website akan lebih murah jika antara web server dengan SMS server terpisah yaitu web server berada di hosting dan SMS server menggunakan operator Indosat M3 dengan tarif per SMS hanya Rp 15 sehingga biaya yang dibebankan kepada masing – masing calon siswa hanya Rp 2970. Dan waktu tercepat untuk mengakses layanan penjurnalan via SMS adalah Rp 7,5 detik sedangkan waktu terlama adalah 14,5 detik.Kata Kunci : SMS Gateway, Penjurnalan, Website, Sistem InformasiABSTRACT: The Receipt of new students by the school always held regularly every year. Then the data will be taken by the SMS Gateway server, which then send the SMS.
From this project showed that the procurement system for information systems journalizing new students based SMS gateway, and the website will be cheaper if the web server with a separate SMS server that is located on the web server hosting and SMS server using the operator Indosat M3 with a charge per SMS only Rp 15 so that the charge given to each - each prospective student only Rp 2970.
