ABSTRAKSI: Topologi jaringan wireless dibagi menjadi dua yaitu mode infrastruktur dan mode tanpa infrastruktur. Mode infrastruktur memiliki gateway tetap (fixed gateway) dan antar gateway dihubungkan dengan media kabel. Dalam Topologi ini memiliki beberapa base station yang terhubung secara tetap dengan media kabel. Mode tanpa infrastruktur atau sering disebut dengan mode ad hoc yaitu jaringan yang tidak memiliki fixed router dan semua node dalam jaringan ini dapat bebas bergerak serta dapat dikoneksikan secara dinamis pada setiap keadaan. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan topologi jaringan ad hoc memiliki topologi yang berubah-ubah sesuai dengan pergerakan node di dalam jaringan. Karakteristik dasar pada jaringan ad hoc adalah topologi yang dinamis sehingga menimbulkan masalah dalam perutingan. Metode routing yang dipakai dalam jaringan ad hoc adalah reactive routing protocol, proactive routing protocol , dan hybrid routing protocol . Pada tugas akhir ini akan disimulasikan protokol routing ZRP, DSR dan DSDV dengan menggunakan network simulator 2. Evaluasi kinerja dari kedua protokol routing ditinjau dari metric packet delivery fraction, normalized routing load dan routing overhead dengan parameter jumlah node, kecepatan pergerakan node dan pause time.Kata Kunci : Kata kunci : jaringan ad hoc, reactive routing protocol, proactive routing protocol, dan hybrid routing protocol, ZRP, DSR, DSDV, NS-2ABSTRACT: Wireless network topology is divided into two: infrastructure mode and the mode without infrastructure.
