ABSTRAKSI: Bluetooth adalah teknologi yang dirancang untuk komunikasi nirkabel dengan jangkauan pendek. Teknologi ini menghasilkan perangkat berdaya rendah sehingga menjadi murah dan portable. Media yang digunakan untuk komunikasi dalam sistem ini adalah udara (radio). Bluetooth merupakan salah satu teknologi wireless yang digunakan pada perangkat bergerak khususnya ponsel. Bluetooth memiliki kemampuan konektivitas untuk wireless secara universal pada perangkat bergerak.
Adapun pengembangan aplikasi berbasis bluetooth pada ponsel antara lain mengimplementasikan proses remote atau otomatisasi dalam memfungsikan beberapa peralatan listrik yang terdapat di rumah, seperti menghidupkan dan mematikan lampu hanya dengan menggunakan beberapa tombol dari sebuah ponsel.
Tugas akhir mengimplementasikan aplikasi bluetooth untuk home appliance dengan koneksi melalui perangkat bluetooth pada ponsel dengan Pc khususnya berbasis Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) dan dukungan J2ME. Sedangkan perangkat bergerak yang digunakan memenuhi spesifikasi CLDC yakni ponsel yang memiliki spesifikasi Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) 2.Kata Kunci : ABSTRACT: Bluetooth is the technology designed for short range wireless communication. This technology provide low power aplliance which is cheap and portable. The media used in this kind of telecommunication is the air (radio). Bluetooth is one of wireless technology used in mobile equipment such as handphone. Bluetooth has the ability to connect wirelessly on mobile equipment universally.
