ABSTRAKSI: Sistem operasi dibagi dalam 3 kelompok besar,yaitu Keluarga Microsoft Windows, Keluarga Unix (termasuk FreeBSD dan Linux),dan keluarga Mac OS. Masingmasing sistem operasi memiliki pengaturan sistem jaringan yang berbeda. Pengaturan jaringan komputer biasanya bersifat client/server dan biasanya hanya terdiri dari satu sistem operasi yang sama. Dewasa ini pada network suatu organisasi baik skala kecil maupun besar menggunakan lebih dari satu sistem operasi yang berbeda sebagai server dan/atau desktop untuk mengatasi kebutuhan IT. Integrasi dan interoperabilitas antar sistem operasi yang berbeda pada suatu network diperlukan, diantaranya meliputi pengaturan manajemen user dan network services seperti web server, ftp server, email server dan sebagainya.
Pada tugas akhir ini, perancangan dan implementasi konfigurasi jaringan multi sistem operasi menggunakan konsep client/server direalisasikan dengan skenario yaitu pembangunan fisik sistem, instalasi dan konfigurasi sistem meliputi konfigurasi network services dan single sign on pada directory services (Microsoft Active Directory) serta pengujian sistem jaringan multi sistem operasi.
Dari hasil pengujian dan analisa performansi jaringan, didapat kualitas jaringan dan perbedaan performansi masing-masing sistem operasi pada jaringan multi sistem operasi. Dengan demikian, didapatkan sebuah jaringan komputer dengan banyak sistem operasi yang saling terhubung, dimana satu sama lain dapat saling berkomunikasi, melakukan komunikasi data atau informasi sehingga terjadi efisiensi dan optimasi kerja.

Each operating system has different network configuration system. Computer network configuration is commonly client/server-like and only consists of one similar operating system. Nowadays, the network of small or large organization or use more than one different operating system as server or/and desktop to make out the IT needs. The network of inter different operating system needs integration and interoperability, including user management controlling and network services as web server, ftp server, email server, etcetera.
In this final project, the design and the implementation of multi operating system network configuration use client/server concept which is realized into scenario of system physical development, system installation and configuration comprises network services and single sign on configuration at directory services (Microsoft Active Directory) along with multi operating network testing.
From testing result and network performance analysis, network quality and difference performance of each operating system in the multi operating system network is obtained. Hence, a computer network with many operating system be able to connect, each operating system can comunicate both data communication and information therefore the work efficiency and optimation will be obtained.
