ABSTRAKSI: Teknologo voice melalui jaringan IP sangat populer saat ini, banyak teknologi yang sudah dapat melayani layanan ini, tetapi terdapat salah satu alternatif jaringan akses untuk mendukung layanan tersebut adalah WiMAX, teknologi WiMAX merupakan teknologi akses wireless broadband berkecepatan tinggi yang mampu mengakses informasi melalui jaringan internet dengan kecepatan data mencapai 75 Mbps dengan jangkauan mencapai 50 km pada kondisi LOS, sehingga teknologi WiMAX ini dapat menjadi solusi dalam melengkapi kebutuhan akan aplikasi layanan voice.
Tetapi masih terdapat masalah, sebelum menyediakan aplikasi layanan voice over WiMAX, terdapat aspek transmisi yang harus diperhatikan karena akan mempengaruhi kualitas layanan aplikasi voice, dan aspek dari parameter QoS voice yang terkadang belum sesuai standar persyaratan minimum
Dalam Tugas Akhir ini dilakukan studi lapangan di Telkom RDC dengan melakukan pengukuran parameter QoS untuk layanan voice dalam jaringan WiMAX yaitu pada kondisi LOS dan Non LOS (NLOS) untuk beberapa jarak dari Subscriber Station (SS) dengan Base Station (BS). Parameter QoS yang diamati pada penelitian adalah delay, packet loss, jitter yang terjadi mulai dari source node sampai dengan destination node.
Diharapkan hasil Tugas Akhir ini dapat mengoptimalisasikan performansi jaringan WiMAX dari segi QoS layanan untuk suatu area tertentu terutama dalam menyediakan layanan voice, sehingga diharapkan dapat membantu penyedia layanan voice untuk mengimplementasikan teknologi ini ke dalam jaringan WiMAX.
Kata Kunci : WiMAX, 802.16d, voiceABSTRACT: Voice technology through IP network very popular now, a lot of technology earn to serve this service, but there are one of alternative access network to support the service is WiMAX, WiMAX technology is technology high speed broadband wireless access capable to access information through internet network with data speed up to 75 Mbps with reach 50 km at LOS condition, so that WiMAX technology earn to become solution in equiping requirement of application voice service.
But there still are problem, before providing application voice service over WiMAX, there are transmission aspect which must be paid attention because will influence quality of application voice service, and aspect from parameter of QoS Voice which sometimes not yet according to standard of minimum condition.
In this final project done by field study at Telkom RDC by doing measurement of QoS parameter for voice service in WiMAX network, thera condition is LOS and Non LOS ( NLOS) in some distance from Subscriber Station ( SS) to Base Station ( BS). QoS parameter Perceived is delay, packet loss, jitter start from source node to destination node.
Expected result of this final project is earn optimalization performance of WiMAX network from QoS Service aspect to certain area especially in providing voice service, so that be expected earn to help voice service provider for implemented this technologyl into WiMAX network.
