ABSTRAKSI: iFACE adalah suatu web jejaring sosial yang dibuat oleh Institut Teknologi Telkom sebagai sarana komunikasi antar civitas akademika. Penggunaan iFACE bisa dilakukan dengan dua cara, yaitu dengan sistem pesan singkat (SMS) dan akses website. Penggunaan iFACE melalui SMS membutuhkan format penulisan SMS tertentu agar pesan SMS yang diterima oleh SMS gateway iFACE dapat dikenali oleh sistem iFACE dan dapat diolah sesuai isi pesan yang diterima sistem iFACE. Pemakaian format penulisan SMS tersebut menimbulkan kelemahan di sisi pengguna, yaitu pengguna perlu menghapal format penulisan SMS untuk setiap fitur iFACE, misalnya fitur memperbarui berita atau menulis ke dinding profil teman.
Pada tugas akhir ini dibuat sebuah aplikasi mobile yang berfungsi untuk menutupi kelemahan di sisi pengguna akibat penggunaan format SMS. Aplikasi tersebut memiliki kemampuan untuk menambahkan format SMS secara otomatis, menerima pesan yang berasal dari SMS gateway iFACE, dan menyimpan data pengguna lain yang berada di web iFACE. Untuk mengetahui kinerja aplikasi, pengujian dilakukan dengan beberapa aspek pengujian, yaitu aspek fungsionalitas, aspek performansi, dan aspek Mean Opinion Score (MOS).
Aplikasi yang dihasilkan pada tugas akhir ini adalah aplikasi yang diperuntukkan untuk telepon seluler bersistem operasi Android, yang bernama aplikasi iFACE SMS. Pengujian yang telah dilakukan pada aplikasi iFACE SMS memberikan beberapa hasil pengujian. Hasil pengujian tersebut antara lain fungsi-fungsi aplikasi yang dapat berjalan sesuai dengan hasil yang diharapkan pada pemodelan sistem, waktu eksekusi memulai aplikasi yang kurang dari 400 ms, waktu eksekusi pengiriman SMS yang kurang dari 20 ms, waktu eksekusi penerimaan SMS kurang dari 100 ms, dan kebutuhan konsumsi RAM yang kurang dari 3 Mb. Selain itu, aplikasi ini mendapatkan respon yang positif dari para pengguna. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil pengujian kuesioner dengan metode MOS yang didominasi oleh penilaian yang cukup baik untuk setiap pertanyaan kuesioner.

The use of iFACE can be done in two ways, by use the short messaging system (SMS) and access website. The use of iFACE via SMS requires a specific format for writing SMS messages, so the messages that received by the SMS gateway can be recognized by the iFACE system and can be processed according to the content of messages received by iFACE system. Using the format of writing a text message cause weakness in the user side, the user needs to memorize the format of writing a SMS for every iFACE feature, for example, feature for news updates or writes to a friend's profile wall.
At this final project, a mobile application was made to cover up weakness in the user side due to the use of the SMS format. This application has the ability to add SMS format automatically, receive messages from the SMS gateway iFACE, and store the data of other users who are on the iFACE website. To determine the performance of application, testing needs to be done with some aspects of testing, ie aspects of functionality, performance aspect, and aspect of the Mean Opinion Score (MOS).
The result of this final project is an application intended for mobile phone that use Android operating system, which is named iFACE SMS. Testing that has been done on the iFACE SMS gives some test results. Test results are application functions that can be run in accordance with the expected results on the modeling of the system, the starting application execution time is less than 400 ms, the execution time of SMS delivery is less than 20 ms, the execution time of receiving SMS is less than 100 ms, and RAM consumption is less than 3 Mb. In addition, this application get positive responses from users. It can be seen from the results of testing the questionnaire with MOS method is dominated by a fairly good ratings for each question in questionnaire.Keyword: iFACE, SMS gateway, application, MOS.
