The concept of art serves a dual function in the context of animation. On the one hand, it acts as a visual embellishment, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the medium. On the other hand, it can be employed as a conduit for introducing and illustrating cultural elements in the digital age. This study is concerned with the concept of art and culture as expressed in the 2D animation Kinara. The animation entitled Kinara, created by Ghost Animation, offers an intriguing visual representation of the conflict between humans and tigers in Maharashtra. The objective of this study is to examine the artistic and cultural elements present in the concept art of Kinara animation, with a particular focus on the character design, the environment, and the cultural elements depicted. This study employs qualitative research methods, utilising literature study and observation as its principal instruments. This study sought to identify the concept of art and the existing culture by collecting data through a literature review and observation. The findings of this study demonstrate that Kinara's concept art features character and environment designs that exemplify a distinctive stylistic approach to illustration. The characters in this animation are depicted in great detail through a variety of techniques, including turnarounds, poses and expressions, which effectively convey each character's distinctive personality and emotions. Furthermore, the environment is depicted with remarkable accuracy, effectively representing the natural environment of Maharashtra. Kinara's animation highlights various elements of Indian culture, including the depiction of clothing and human interactions, which can enrich the audience's understanding of Indian traditions and way of life.
