BATIK SERU WITH CHARACTERISTICS OF SURABAYA

ABSTRACT
Batik SeRu is one of Indonesian Batik. It is different from the other kinds of batik, since it uses natural coloring from Mangrove plant. This product is very potential as a great local product from Surabaya. However, Batik SeRu do not have strong corporate identity to represent image of brands Batik SeRu yet.
Methods of data collection used in this study are observation, interview, and book study. They are used to gain data that is needed in redesigning corporate identity and attribute of Batik SeRu product.
Design concept of Batik SeRu is Batik SeRu with characteristics of Surabaya. Batik SeRu becomes brand of batik cloth that increase value production of Mangrove plants as a plant with high economic value from Surabaya town. Because of that, the proper colors for its theme are green and gold as a reference of Batik SeRu concept visualization with characteristics of Surabaya.
