Long Term Evolution (LTE) these days is a telecommunication technology that
most used in the world before 5G was available and perfectly integrated. LTE devices in the world are increased day by day. Telkomsel is one of the provider networks in Indonesia that want to improve the performance of LTE devices in every
handset. LTE devices can be estimated from over-the-air (OTA) measurements in
anachronic chamber.
Over The Air (OTA) Measurement is the measurement that measures how good
the Device Under Test (DUT) over the air inside the chamber. OTA Measurement
will become important in Telecommunication technology because of millimeterwave frequencies and requirements to mobile terminals for the multiband and
smaller size. On OTA Measurement there are three types, Total Isotropic Power
(TIS), Total Radiated Power (TRP), and Throughput measurement. OTA testing
will need to operate new requirements of Telecommunication technology, especially
on cellular. OTA measurement aims to characterize the wireless performance of devices with the help of clearly defined test methodologies and performance metrics.
This Undergraduate Thesis discusses the OTA measurement of 4G LTE devices.
To find out how much the value of RF performance from OTA measurement is by
using the EMC32 software, RS CMWRun software, and DST200 Chamber. According to the CTIA report, the DUT is measured to find out how much the TRP
and TIS value.
The results obtained from the measurements here are that the DUT to be
launched by Telkomsel meets the 3GPP TS 36.116 requirements for its sensitivity value.
