Culture has a universal and relative nature as well. It is shared by all people wherever they are with a number of similarities, but each culture also has different characteristics. In the global context, there has been a meeting between cultural elements in different levels, namely: local culture, national culture, and global culture. A global culture is often interpreted as the culture center followed by other cultures, so there are frequent possibilities of culture elimination. Ideally, meetings between cultural elements are synergistic, in which there is a process of interactions, competitions, and negotiations between different elements of cultures. This possibly happens when each community feels equal. Through those interactions and negotiations, the culture spectrum becomes more precious and colorful. In reality, the local-national communities often feel themselves inferior when interacting with the global community that is considered superior. It should not happen if the local-national communities want to view and explore the cultural richness and values of local-national wisdom which are unique and boast. Insights into the local or national cultures can be an effective strategy to strengthen local-national cultures in the global arena. Education plays an important role in the efforts of cultural affirmation. Three strategic moves are urgent to be done through: education about culture, education in the culture, and inter/cross-cultural education.
