This article is based on the phenomenon of the flourish of batik motifs
with local characters emerging in many areas, including in areas which previously did not have batik-making tradition. The motif diversities are intended to mark the identity of the area from which they arrive. The phenomenon is interesting to be studied further to find out the background of the creation of such motifs. The study employs descriptive analysis approach. The material object of the study is batik in West Java areas. The study reveals that the appearances or visualizations of New Born Batik do not put philosophical meanings as their priority, but only emphasize the special features of the area they represent.
