The Presidents Delivery Unit for Development Monitoring and Oversight (UKP-PPP) in collaboration with the School of Business and Management ITB (SBM ITB) invites academicians and practitioners to present papers on the application of systems modeling, particularly using agent-based simulation for national strategic policy development in The International Workshop on Agent-based Modeling and Simulation for Policy Development. In the workshop, Professor Kyoichi Kijima(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyoichi_Kijima) and Professor Hiroshi Deguchi (http://www.cs.dis.titech.ac.jp/en/) who are professors from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, will present the state of the art of research in Agent-based Modelling and Simulation for Policy Development.
WORKSHOP THEME
The main theme of this workshop is Agent-Based modelling and simulation for Policy Development. The research topics that will be discussed in this workshop deal with strategic national issues, such as:
Main topics:
Economic development and poverty eradication
Food Security
Environmental preservation and climate change
Other Topics:
Eradication of infectious diseases
New and renewable energy
Security and counter-terrorism
Maritime and marine development
Transportation and traffic congestion
Natural disaster response and mitigation
Other relevant topics.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of this workshop can be described as follows:
Establishing communication and cooperation among researchers and practitioners in agent-based modelling and simulation both domestically and overseas.
Documenting research findings, consultation projects that have been built up by researchers from all over Indonesia and the world, especially by using agent-based modelling and simulation for developing policies.
Mapping the research finding and consultation projects that can be implemented by decision makers in government, especially those using systems approaches.
