ABSTRACT
Shooting video from the air or called aerial video has many benefits like mapping or monitoring on a location. But aerial video requires enormous costs, if use helicopter. One of the solution is use a quadcopter that have cost cheaper than use helicopter. But the problem is the performance of aerial video from quadcopter does not optimal because the distance that does not reach the maximum from video transceiver.
In this study implemented cloverleaf antenna mounted on the video transmitter in quadcopter and antenna helix mounted on the video receiver in the ground station with frequency 5.8 GHz and used as a tool to maximize aerial video or called First Person View (FPV).
The result of this study show radiation pattern from cloverleaf and the normal mode helix antenna is omnidirectional radiation pattern. VSWR antenna cloverleaf at 1,433 and helix antenna at 1,389. Then in terms of the distance, the result is obtained as far as 500 m with a height of 40 m. From these results the cloverleaf antenna and helix antenna is suitable use on quadcopter because have a light weight and can maximize the distance from transmission and reception of video.
