ABSTRAKSI: Dewasa ini perkembangan teknologi sangatlah pesat bahkan lebih pesat dari jumlah penduduk yang ada di dunia. Seiring perkembangan teknologi tersebut maka semakin banyak pula permintaannya dari berbagai macam bidang. Seperti halnya penerapan teknologi barcode pada presensi mahasiswa. Pada umumnya presensi mahasiswa di IT Telkom menggunakan kertas yang nantinya di masukkan ke database oleh admin, hal ini sangat tidak sejalan dengan kemajuan teknologi yang ada serta menjadikan penurunan efektifitas kerja dari admin.
Pada proyek akhir ini akan dirancang sebuah sistem presensi kehadiran menggunakan teknologi barcode sebagai inputan. Sistem kerja alat ini mengintegrasikan mikrokontroler ATMEGA328 dengan barcode scanner, dan database pada server. Pada sistem ini memiliki perbedaan cara akses dimana barcode mahasiswa hanya bisa di akses setelah sistem menerima barcode dosen yang mengajar saat itu. Prosesnya hasil pembacaan barcode di proses pada mikrokontroler dan disesuaikan dengan database dosen yang tersedia, apabila sesuai barulah data presesnsi mahasisma dapat dimasukan, setelah itu mahasiswa dapat mengakses sistem. Keluaran yang dihasilkan sebuah database yang isinya kode dosen, kode mata kuliah, ruang kuliah, dan data mahasiswa yang hadir.
Hasil yang telah dicapai dari proyek akhir ini adalah suatu sistem yang akurat dan dapat memberikan data kehadiran mahasiswa sesuai mata kuliah dan dosen yang mengajar dalam bentuk database secara otomatis.Kata Kunci : barcode, barcode scanner, ATMEGA328, databaseABSTRACT: Nowadays, the development of technology is very rapid even more rapidly than the total population of the world.
