ABSTRAKSI: Handphone saat ini sudah menjadi semacam identitas diri secara personal. Karena sifatnya yang personal maka, handphone menjadi kebutuhan setiap orang dalam membuka pintu gerbang informasi selain akses internet.
SMS (Short Messages Services) merupakan salah satu layanan komunikasi standar dalam GSM sistem komunikasi mobile, menggunakan standar protocol komunikasi yang memungkinkan pertukaran pesan teks singkat antara perangkat telepon seluler. SMS seperti yang digunakan pada handset modem ini awalnya didefinisikan sebagai bagian dari standar GSM pada tahun 1985.
Untuk itu dalam Proyek Akhir ini, dibuat aplikasi SMS gateway dengan untuk mempermudah proses perwalian dalam regestrasi semester baru. Perwalian merupakan salah satu prosedur dasar dalam pelaksanaan registrasi yang wajib dilaksanakan oleh seluruh mahasiswa pada setiap awal semester. Proses registrasi yang kadang bermasalah dengan berbagai penyebab, baik dari dosen, mahasiswa, ataupun sistem yang sudah ada. Dan hal yang banyak terjadi adalah pada proses ACC dosen wali yang dikarenakan oleh beberapa faktor. Dan SMS gateway menawarkan suatu alternatif untuk akses ACC wali. Kemudahan SMS untuk aplikasi registrasi akan mempermudah dosen untuk memberi ACC kepada mahasiswa dimanapun berada hanya dengan mengirimkan suatu pesan singkat dengan format tertentu

Therefore in this Final Project, created the gateway and SMS applications to facilitate the process of guardianship in regestrasi new semester. Guardianship is one of the basic procedures in the implementation of mandatory registration of all students at the beginning of each semester. Registrasion process sometimes troubled with a variety of causes, both from faculty, students, or existing systems. And a lot of things that happened was in the process of lecturers guardian ACC due to several factors. And SMS gateway offers an alternative to access the ACC trustee. SMS to ease the registration application will be easier for teachers to give students everywhere the ACC to be just by sending a short message with a specific format.Keyword: SMS gateway, GSM, Guardianship .
