<p><em>Indonesia’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity presents unique challenges for intercultural communication, especially in multicultural campus environments like Telkom University. First-year dormitory students come from various ethnolinguistic backgrounds, making their interactions often influenced by language and dialect differences. This study aims to identify the forms of intercultural communication and the main challenges faced by new students in adapting to dormitory life. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews with 10 students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and documentation. The results show that students experienced awkwardness and miscommunication during the early stages of adaptation, but gradually developed communication strategies such as adjusting speaking styles, clarifying meanings, and using humor. Dormitory life serves as an effective space for developing intercultural communication skills and fostering multicultural awareness.</em></p>
