ABSTRAKSI: Teknologi informasi telah menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari kehidupan manusia saat ini, khususnya pada bidang distribusi informasi dan pengembangan aplikasi informasi untuk mempermudah pekerjaan manusia. Mobilitas manusia di luar rumah yang tinggi merupakan salah satu faktor timbulnya berbagai aksi kriminalitas di rumah yang ditinggalkan. Surveillance system adalah sebuah sistem yang dibangun untuk mengatasi hal – hal tersebut dengan mengolah video yang terekam dari rumah menggunakan kamera IP yang dapat dipantau dari mana saja dengan menggunakan akses internet. Sistem ini memungkinkan untuk meminimalisir aksi kriminalitas yang bisa kapan saja terjadi di rumah. Proyek akhir ini membuat sebuah rancangan jaringan dan user interface, sebagai media untuk melakukan monitoring dari dua kamera IP yang diletakkan di dua tempat berbeda di rumah, yaitu di dalam dan di luar rumah, serta database server yang menangani penyimpanan video hasil dari kamera IP untuk diolah pada proses selanjutnya. Video streaming dapat diakses dari dua kamera IP melalui aplikasi di web dan disimpan menjadi data video terkompresi. Hasil yang didapat dari proyek akhir ini diketahui loss pada jaringan intranet adalah 0%, serta waktu periodik minimal dalam pengambilan gambar adalah setiap satu menit.Kata Kunci : IP camera, surveillance system, video streamingABSTRACT: Information technology has become an integral part of human life these days, especially in the areas of information distribution and information application development to make easier of human work. The high of human mobility in outdoor is one of the factor that could make incidence of various criminal acts in an abandoned house. Surveillance system is a system built to cope with it by processing the recorded video from home using an IP camera that can be monitored from anywhere with internet access. It is possible to minimize the criminal acts that could happen any time at home. The final project is creating a network design and user interface, as a medium to monitor of two IP cameras which placed in two different places in the home, inside and outside the home, as well as the database server that handles the storage of the IP camera video to be processed on the next process. Video streaming is accessible from two IP cameras through web application and stored into the compressed video data. The results of the final project known loss on intranet were 0%, and the minimal periodic time of capture was in every single minute.Keyword: IP camera, surveillance system, video streaming
