ABSTRAKSI: Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) adalah pengembangan dari Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) yang menjadikan sebuah kendaraan bermotor sebagai suatu nodes di dalam jaringan. Mobilitas node pada VANET sangat tinggi dan ini menyebabkan perubahan dari topologi jaringan VANET yang sangat sering. Berdasarkan kondisi jaringan yang berubah-ubah tersebut maka proses pencarian jalur yang tepat merupakan salah satu hal yang menjadi masalah dalam VANET. Pada penulisan tugas akhir ini, dibandingkan routing protocol ZRP dan MDART dengan dua skenario, yaitu jalan kota (urban) dan simple highway mobility model (jalan tol). Simulasi dijalankan di NS-2. Hasilnya, kinerja protokol routing ZRP lebih baik dibandingkan dengan MDART di skenario yang diujikan. Namun, kinerja ZRP di parameter routing overhead tidak terlalu bagus, hal ini karena pada routing ZRP selalu melakukan pengecekan terhadap peripheral node untuk menemukan node tujuan. Selain itu, nilai uji ZRP pada skenario highway pun cenderung menurun karena pada highway tidak terdapat persimpangan seperti skenario urban yang akan membuat penumpukan zona pada persimpangan tersebut. Kata Kunci : highway, MDART, NS-2, urban, VANET, ZRP.ABSTRACT: Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is an expansion of Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) that makes a vehicles as a node in the network. In VANET, the mobility of a node is very high. This cause the network topology changes frequently. Based on that, one of problem in VANET is the process of finding proper routing network. In this paper, I will compare ZRP and MDART routing protocols with urban and highway scenario. The simulation tested in NS-2. The result is that ZRP is slightly better than MDART on both scenarios. But, routing overhead in ZRP is not quite good because ZRP always checked its peripheral nodes to find destination node. Moreover, the ZRP result on highway scenario is worse than in urban scenario because in highway there’s no intersection like in urban scenario. That means the feature in ZRP which is named zone overlapping that work with vehicles cumulation is not working. Keyword: highway, MDART, NS-2, urban, VANET, ZRP.
