ABSTRAKSI: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) atau gangguan otot rangka merupakan kerusakan pada otot, saraf, tendon, ligament, persendian, kartilago, dan discus invertebralis. Penyebab utama terjadinya MSDs adalah postur tubuh yang salah. Postur tubuh adalah posisi ba gian dari tubuh yang berhubungan dengan bagian tubuh lain yang dihubungkan oleh sudut sambungan Batik Komar merupakan badan usaha milik perseorangan yang dimiliki oleh H. Komarudin Kudiya S.IP, M.Ds. yang bergerak dibidang produksi kain batik. Produk ung gulan yang diproduksi Batik Komar diantaranya batik cap dan batik tulis. Salah satu kegiatan pada perusahaan Batik Komar adalah kegiatan pewarnaan kain batik.yang sebelumnya telah dilakukan proses pembatikan. Alat yang digunakan operator dalam proses pewar naan batik berupa meja kerja dengan ukuran 176 x 80.5 x 155.5 cm. Observasi yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat kerja eksisting terdapat posisi canggung operator berupa punggung membungkuk lebih dari 30 o dan posisi lengan terangkat melebihi bahu opera tor. Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (WISHA) mendeskripsikan bahwa bekerja dengan posisi leher atau punggung membungkuk dengan sudut lebih dari 30 o tanpa dukungan selama lebih dari total 2 jam dalam sehari sebagai postur canggung ( www.lni.wa.gov , 2013). Hasil penelitian postur kerja operator yang sedang melakukan proses pewarnaan dengan menggunakan RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) diperoleh skor assessment sebesar 5.
