Abstraksi

ABSTRAKSI: Pada jaman sekarang, kebutuhan paket data semakin tinggi membuat ISP harus dapat memenuhi kebutuhan akan kemampuan untuk mengelola QOS tanpa mengurangi kinerja jaringan secara signifikan. Permasalah ISP ini dapat disamakan dengan permasalahan yang terjadi pada Virtual Private Server (VPS) dalam lingkup yang kecil.<br> <br> Salah satu solusi untuk menjaga kinerja jaringan adalah dengan mengimplementasikan sistem redundant pada IP interface, sehingga apabila ada interface down, maka alamat data akan dipindahkan ke interface standby yang tersedia. Jadi, meskipun ada interface down, koneksi jaringan akan selalu tersedia. Teknik redundant pada IP interface ini merupakan fitur yang dimiliki oleh IP multipath (IPMP). IPMP juga dapat digunakan untuk load-sharing untuk meningkatkan throughput.<br><br> Hasil dari implementasi IPMP pada VPS Solaris dapat diperoleh bahwa IPMP dapat menjaga kinerja jaringan saat terjading failover, yaitu penurunan throughput tidak lebih dari 5%. Kualitas throughput pun meningkat dengan fitur load-sharing lebih dari 10%.<br><br>Kata Kunci : Virtual Private Server, IP Multipath, Redundant, Load-SharingABSTRACT: Nowaday, the need of packet data is higher that make ISP must meet the expectation to manage the QOS without reduce network performance. The problem in ISP can be analogous to the problem in virtual private server (VPS) in the small scope.<br><br> One of the solution to maintain network performance is to implement redundant system at the IP interface, so whenever the interface down, the data address can be moved to the available standby interface. So, the network connection is always available. This redundant technique at the IP interface is the fitur of IP Multipath (IPMP). IPMP can also be used as load-sharing to increase the throughput.<br><br> The result of IPMP implementation in Solaris VPS is IPMP can maintain network performance when the failover happened, that is the reduction of throughput not higher than 5%. The throughput quality increases more than 10% due to load-sharing fiture.<br><br>Keyword: Virtual Private Server, IP Multipath, Redundant, Load-Sharing
