This chapter delves into the critical issues facing women digital entrepreneurs in emerging countries, emphasizing the transformative potential of digital technologies for economic empowerment. It explores the persistent structural barriers, including insufficient digital skills, limited access to finance, and inadequate digital infrastructure, that hinder women's full participation in the digital economy. The chapter also highlights the importance of an intersectional approach to understanding gender dynamics, considering factors such as social class, ethnicity, age, and geography. Additionally, it provides an overview of the book's structure, which is organized into five main sections covering theoretical foundations, digital skills and empowerment, challenges and opportunities, cultural and regional perspectives, and leadership, finance, and personal branding. The chapter concludes by asserting the necessity of inclusive frameworks and policies to promote gender-equitable digital entrepreneurship in the Global South.
