The increasing popularity of the Fitness as a Service (FaaS) business model highlights a significant surge in public interest in health and fitness. Despite this trend, many current fitness tracking systems predominantly rely on wearable devices, such as smartwatches and fitness bands. While effective, these devices may not always offer the comfort or accessibility needed for all individuals, potentially limiting their widespread adoption. This research objective is to solve the gap by developing an IoT-based fitness monitoring system for weightlifting exercises using dumbbells. The system will use MPU6050 sensors to track user movements and RFID (RC522) to identify users, enabling personalized data collection. The data collected from these sensors will be sent and kept to a website where users can monitor their performances, including the number of repetitions and calories burned. To evaluate the effectiveness of the tools, this research will apply the System Usability Scale (SUS) method to ensure the usability of the developed system, ensuring that it is user-friendly and practical. The research passes the stages of designing, developing, and testing the system to measure its accuracy and usability. This research could significantly advance the creation of accessible, non-wearable fitness tracking systems, providing a practical option for individuals who want to keep tabs on their fitness journey, especially during weightlifting exercises.
