This text discusses how the creative arts can be used in the counseling process, focusing on music, dance and movement, imagery, visual arts, literature and writing, drama and psychodrama, humor, play, animal-assisted therapy, and horticultural, nature, and wilderness therapies. Each chapter includes background on the art form; the premise behind using it; the general practice of using it in counseling settings; uses with specific populations, such as children, adolescents, adults, older adults, groups, families, and minorities; and art-related exercises.
