The authors of this book would like to thank Taylor & Francis Group (CRC press) for agreeing to publish this book and the cooperation extended during the development of this book. The final version of this book contains 11 chapters which are related to emerging technology of image processing and its application in various domains. The entire content of this book is divided into three parts to increase the readability of the authors as follows: Concept and Background of Image processing, Techniques, and Big Data, Advanced Image Processing Technical Phases for Big Data Analysis and Various Applications of Image Processing.

This book will be a valuable resource for undergraduates, graduates, and postgraduates doing research in the field of image processing and its advanced concepts related to Big Data technology. This book will also be valuable to the researchers and developers of advanced image processing techniques and their applications in different fields.

The entire book is divided into three segments to increase the readability of the book. The first section, “Concept and Background of Image Processing,” discusses the concepts of advanced digital image processing. In Chapter 2, the authors describe different techniques involved for processing of images, and finally Chapter 3 discusses about the role and support of image processing in big data. This first section includes details about image processing concepts and the background associated with image processing and big data.
