The automotive engineer of the future is going to be a hybrid of knowledge coming from pure mechanical and going through electrical field toward computer science reaching machine learning and artificial intelligence with cross-references in 4.1 industry and Internet of things. We will be dreaming of the ages where one engineer would have the knowledge and the means to design, project, and produce a vehicle prototype; now whether we like it or not, the software engineering is the leading violin and the rest of the orchestra will have to follow. I wonder whether the director is a real human being or a product or artificial intelligence designed to interpret and to generate solutions as a result of billions and billions of statistical calculations?
Engineers have always debated their ideas, challenging each other in providing better solutions to strategic problems; some of the best places to promote ideas and to have debates are the international congresses, which provide an environment where specialists from all over the world come to share and to promote their newly discovered solutions.
