This book indicates how to use the concept of a nudge on your own decisions. It describes and illustrates several different types of personal nudges that can help you make better decisions. These nudges are based on clearly defining the decision that you face, thoroughly articulating what you want to achieve by making that decision, creating better alternatives to consider, and deliberately identifying more desirable decisions to face. Personal nudges are applicable to all of your decisions.
Near the end of their book, Thaler and Sunstein state: “One of our main hopes is that an understanding of choice architecture, and the powers of nudges, will lead others to think of creative ways to improve human lives in other domains.” 3 I believe the ideas in this book are consistent with this desire.
