I found this book to be a fantastic resource as an English writing instructor to business and econ students at a German university. My students were at a B2-C1 (more C1) level of English and the majority started with poor writing skills. We covered the majority of the material in one busy semester, but I could easily see stretching this out over an academic year, especially with supplemental material.

Bailey hits the nail on the head with the chapters in the 'Accuracy in Writing' section. This was definitely my favorite part. In general, I thought the book was really well developed, but I found myself adding supplemental materials for the chapter 'Argument and discussion' and the (brief) section 'Writing Models'. I think a companion book for Writing Models would be a huge help, especially for instructors; I would love to see this!

I highly recommend the book if your students sound similar to mine. I have noticed a significant improvement over the course of the semester and look forward to using the book again. I also work with PhD students in the life/natural sciences and wish there was a version of this book with scientific themed examples/exercises.

I really wish this book were available WITHOUT the answer key, or at the very least an incomplete key. Perhaps the publishers will consider this for future versions?
