**Abstrak: **Manusia mempunyai dua aspek kebutuhan yang wajib dipenuhi oleh setiap pribadinya, yaitu kebutuhan jasmani dan kebutuhan rohani. Kebutuhan spiritual merupakan salah satu bagian dari kebutuhan rohani dimana gereja adalah wadah kegiatan spiritual bagi umat Kristiani. Seiring berkembangnya jaman, agama Kristen dibagi menjadi beberapa aliran. Salah satu aliran Kristen Prostestan yaitu aliran lutheran, memiliki 14 jenis gereja yang salah satunya adalah Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP). Meskipun ke-14 gereja ini memiliki beberapa ciri khas tersendiri dari segi ibadah nya, namun desain interior yang diterapkan kerap memiliki desain yang sama. Bahkan dalam beberapa kasus, desain gereja aliran lutheran dengan aliran lainnya juga memiliki desain yang sama. Hal tersebut menyebabkan tidak adanya ciri khas desain yang dapat membedakan gereja yang satu dengan gereja lainnya. Fenomena ini juga terjadi pada Gereja HKBP Riau Martadinata Bandung. Perancangan ulang ini bertujuan agar desain interior gereja ini memiliki identitas atau ciri khas tersendiri yang dapat dibedakan dari gereja-gereja lainnya. Identitas yang dimaksudkan ada dua, yaitu sebagai gereja ber-aliran lutheran, dan sebagai gereja HKBP. Desain akhir diharapkan dapat memberikan identitas pada gereja ini melalui desain interior nya.

Abstract : Human has two aspect of needs that must be fulfilled by every person, the first aspect is physical needs and the second one is spiritual needs. Church is a place where Christians do their spiritual activity. As time goes by, Christianity split into multiple doctrins. One of the Protestant denominations is lutheranism, lutheranism has 14 kinds of churches, one of which is Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP). Although all 14 churches have some distinctive characteristics in terms of its worship, but the interior design often has the same design. Even in some cases, the lutheranism church and the other denomination church also have the same design. This phenomenon also occurs at HKBP Riau Martadinata church in Bandung city. This redesign is intended so the interior design of this church has its own identity or characteristic that can be distinguished from the other churches. There were two identities, namely as the lutheranism church, and as the HKBP church. The final design is expected to provide the identity of this church through its interior design.
